Green & Clean PIEAS (GCP) association was formed to initiate different environmental awareness and carbon footprint reduction activities to make PIEAS look green & clean. Activities included, solar panel installation, tree plantation drives, paper less environment, awareness campaign and declaration of smoking free zone.

With the mission to reduce carbon footprint and utilization of renewable energy resources, PIEAS has mounted 2500+ solar panels on various locations throughout the campus aiming to generate 85% of its electricity need from this environment friendly project. Currently, 0.7 Megawatt(MW) of power driven by Solar panels has been connected into the system, with another 1.1 MW in the pipeline.
Green & Clean PIEAS (GCP) association has organized several tree plantation drives in which more than 1,000 trees have been planted so far. PIEAS which is nested in the serene setting of a beautiful countryside of federal capital Islamabad, has utilized the open area within its vicinity for such plantation drives. Faculty members and students of different disciplines have been part of these drives.
PIEAS with the technical support of its Computational and Internet Services
Division (CISD), has moved from paper based to complete digitalization of
examination process using its state-of-the-art Learning Management
System(LMS). This initiative has significantly reduced the use of paper
throughout PIEAS.

Lack of awareness towards environmental issues is leading towards
wastage and misuse of
limited resources. GCP association has organized
multiple interactive awareness talks with students to spread awareness on
this important issue.
PIEAS has been declared as “Smoking Free Zone”, for all students and staff members. Numerous signboards have been mounted throughout the campus for information purposes, and those found in violation are penalized with hefty fines. The fund that is collected from the imposed fines is used by the GCP association to procure seedling for future Planation Drives.
